Half Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

Started running Jan. 26, 2009.  I've ran 6 days a week since and have only missed 2 days.

I no longer hate to run.

 May 9, 2009 ran I-Drive 5K in Orlando FL in 29:58

Short-Term Running Goals:

Run a 5K in 30 minutes.

I have just decided to train for a half marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue to run even after my races and be an old running woman.  After my half I just may decide on a full marathon but right now just the thought of the half is daunting.


I am married to Matt (Twinkies) who loves to run.  I have been the supportive wife watching him run his races and calling him crazy.  We have 4 kids.  Our oldest is 7 and our youngest is 1 1/2.  I homeschool our two oldest boys.  I have decided that I really want to lose my extra fat and get back into shape.  I have always hated to run but I think I am finally past that.  I hope to someday actually say that I love to run.  I would be proud to call myself a runner.  Most of my runs are on the treadmill because I'm unable to leave the kids home alone while I go out for a jog.

Ran this race  with the family.  I actually ran mostly with Jaxine.  I wasn't planning on running at all until the night before when she informed us that she wanted to run the race too.  I thought she would just walk most of it and figured I could keep up with her, but no, she really pushed me. She almost ran the entire first half and it was tough for me to keep up with her.  I haven't run at all for over a year and I am now about 18 weeks pregnant so this was really a push for me.  It was a whole lot of fun and I am quite proud of her and of myself.  Connor and Jed both did great too, but they had both been training to run and so were in a little better shape.
