Half Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

Started running Jan. 26, 2009.  I've ran 6 days a week since and have only missed 2 days.

I no longer hate to run.

 May 9, 2009 ran I-Drive 5K in Orlando FL in 29:58

Short-Term Running Goals:

Run a 5K in 30 minutes.

I have just decided to train for a half marathon.

  • July 11 Farmington Festival Days 1/2 Marathon

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue to run even after my races and be an old running woman.  After my half I just may decide on a full marathon but right now just the thought of the half is daunting.

Personal:

I am married to Matt (Twinkies) who loves to run.  I have been the supportive wife watching him run his races and calling him crazy.  We have 4 kids.  Our oldest is 7 and our youngest is 1 1/2.  I homeschool our two oldest boys.  I have decided that I really want to lose my extra fat and get back into shape.  I have always hated to run but I think I am finally past that.  I hope to someday actually say that I love to run.  I would be proud to call myself a runner.  Most of my runs are on the treadmill because I'm unable to leave the kids home alone while I go out for a jog.

Did an easy 3 miles (ha ha I always wanted to say that!) today.  Just ran the whole thing at 5mph and walked .5 mile.  I did lose a couple of pound this last week though so yeah for me.

Nice job. Today was a tough day for running. Windy and cold.

Funny how that happens! (The distances becoming easy). Right now the half marathon seems long, but after you do one or two and train for a marathon, even that distance will be easy! Good luck with your training, it is always neat to watch people really become runners!

When I saw you Thursday night I could really tell you have lost weight! You are looking GREAT! Keep up the work and we will have to run together some time!

Thanks Kathie, I haven't seen the weight loss on myself yet except for what the scale says but I guess I see myself all the time. Maybe once all this snow goes away I will go running outside with you, but boy do I hate to run in the snow!
