Half Marathon Finish

Running Accomplishments:

Started running Jan. 26, 2009.  I've ran 6 days a week since and have only missed 2 days.

I no longer hate to run.

 May 9, 2009 ran I-Drive 5K in Orlando FL in 29:58

Short-Term Running Goals:

Run a 5K in 30 minutes.

I have just decided to train for a half marathon.

  • July 11 Farmington Festival Days 1/2 Marathon

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue to run even after my races and be an old running woman.  After my half I just may decide on a full marathon but right now just the thought of the half is daunting.

Personal:

I am married to Matt (Twinkies) who loves to run.  I have been the supportive wife watching him run his races and calling him crazy.  We have 4 kids.  Our oldest is 7 and our youngest is 1 1/2.  I homeschool our two oldest boys.  I have decided that I really want to lose my extra fat and get back into shape.  I have always hated to run but I think I am finally past that.  I hope to someday actually say that I love to run.  I would be proud to call myself a runner.  Most of my runs are on the treadmill because I'm unable to leave the kids home alone while I go out for a jog.

Walked .5 and ran 4.  Had to do it on the treadmill today because Matt had a race and then has to go to work.  I guess it's just as well because I hate to run in the snow.  I listened to Conference while running.  I hate having two days, Thur. and Fri. where I don't run at all so I don't get to log any miles but I guess it's still best to follow my training plan and I need the rest and to work on other areas to really improve.

So how did Matt do in the snow? It was so cold out there today! My running group just had a lot of first time runners join, so if you want to come you could totally smoke most of them!

Tell me more about this running group. When do you run and for how long. I think it would really help my ego if I could smoke at least one person :)!

Matt did pretty. Great compared to my standards, but when he came home and I asked him how it went he said "EHH." Definitely was a cold day.

Wow 4.5 in one day, that is great Susie! This is a neat way to track your running, and stay motivated. Thanks for your tips and advice tongiht. Keep up the good work and enjoy the running.
